Leona Grace (Mama Lee) Main, 89, of Athens, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2016.

Born in Elwood City, Pennsylvania, she attended Lincoln High School and graduated in 1945. She married her husband, Ralph, on October 12, 1946. They were married 62 years.

Leona Grace was a daughter of the late Lawrence C. and Sylvia Newton Young. Leona relocated to Athens from Seminole, Florida in 1980. She loved children and had a little day care named Mama Lee's Rugrat Nursery. Mama Lee loved each of her "rugrats" as if they were her own....

Born in Elwood City, Pennsylvania, she attended Lincoln High School and graduated in 1945. She married her husband, Ralph, on October 12, 1946. They were married 62 years.

Leona Grace was a daughter of the late Lawrence C. and Sylvia Newton Young. Leona relocated to Athens from Seminole, Florida in 1980. She loved children and had a little day care named Mama Lee's Rugrat Nursery. Mama Lee loved each of her "rugrats" as if they were her own. She was a positive influence on them and the lives of their families. She was a member of Central Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include her son, Ronald Edward Main and wife, Judith, of Spencer, North Carolina; sister, Evabelle Colavincezo and husband, Dr. Raymond Colavincezo, of Clyde, Ohio; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Edward Main; son, David Lawrence Main; and her sister, Gladys Jean Cook.

Leona wishes to thank all her dear friends who made life such a joy with special thanks to her caregiver, Rose Clarke. She also thanks all for the prayers offered on her behalf.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 26 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Bohler and Rev. Joe Berry officiating. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
