Donna "Jill Jack" Bryant, age 59, died peacefully on Monday, October 3, 2016 in her home in Athens, Georgia.

From her birth in Atlanta, on April 3, 1957 to her passing on Monday, October 3, she nourished people around her with love, acceptance, and spirit. She was born to Virginia McEntire and Edward Bryant. She attended high school at Tallulah Falls Boarding School and Crestwood High School in Dunwoody, Georgia. Later, she attended Truett McConnell Junior College in Watkinsville, Georgia.

During her time on this earth, she helped many with her combination of generosity, honesty, and acceptance of others. True to her name, she was a Jack of all trades, and worked at a variety of jobs including a limousine driver, a home-care provider for those with disabilities, a house parent at Miles Street Treatment Center and in data management for the state of Georgia. She worked in the substance abuse field at Miles Street Treatment Center as a substance abuse counselor. Jill even traveled around the South, performing as a folk singer and playing guitar. She also served in the U.S. Army and worked as a driver for a well-known colonel in San Francisco.

Anyone that knew Jill loved Jill. It was hard not to love Jill, from the spark in her eyes to the smoky voice, from the playful mischievous step-parent to the adventure seeking aunt, sister, partner and friend. She leaves so many behind that love her, and in this space she left so many wonderful memories and stories.

Left to honor Jill Jack's memory are her brother, James Bryant (Jimmy); brother, Scott Bryant; her niece, Ruthie Bryant; her nephews, Thomas Bryant, Trey Bryant, and Daniel Bryant; stepson, Ryan Hamel; grandson, Clifton Hamel. Jill Jack was preceded in death by her parents.

Jill Jack will be remembered as a bright, shining light in various communities and hearts.
