Claude Edsel Fair, 82, of Athens, GA passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015.

A native of Oglethorpe County, GA Mr. Fair was the son of the late Claude and Dollie Irene Sullivan Fair and was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Mize Fair. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was a P.O.W. for 30 months. Mr. Fair retired from the United States Postal Service.

Survivors include daughters, Donna Fair and Karen McDaniel (William) all of Athens; special friend, Matt Jackson of Farmington; brothers, Crawford Fair, Larry...

Survivors include daughters, Donna Fair and Karen McDaniel (William) all of Athens; special friend, Matt Jackson of Farmington; brothers, Crawford Fair, Larry Fair, and Charles Vernon Fair all of Athens; sister, Shirley Self of Hull; grandsons, Billy McDaniel (Amber) and Craig McDaniel (Katie); great-grandchildren, Thomas, Katelyn, and Jakob, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 2PM Saturday, April 4th in the chapel at Bernstein Funeral Home with Rev. Blake Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8PM Friday, April 3rd at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, 3343 Peachtree Rd NE, #M20, Atlanta, GA 30326.
